The Knife played the Camden Roundhouse last night to promote their new album 'Shaking The Habitual' and it was completely normal. No weirdness at all. Here's a woman who might be Karin playing a wooden bass-plane, one of many bespoke instruments on the stage

Who says The Knife are a couple of avant-garde artistes who take themselves too seriously? A 9-piece troupe performed synchronised dance routines for much of the night. "Riverdance for cunts," suggested one member of the audience

Is this Karin? We're told it is, but it doesn't really look like her. In fact, there were three leading women taking centre stage last night and it was totally unclear which one was actually in The Knife. Olof was also tricky to spot. Was he the guy with long hair?

OMG this horn thing was amazing. You'll have heard it crop up a few times on 'Shaking The Habitual'. It popped up all over the place like an intellectual kazoo on ritalin last night. Don't miss the harp at the back that looks as if it's made of colourful balloons

Costumes were, of course, amazing. Wardrobe themes were glitter, latex and 80s sports wear

The dance element of the show divided gig-goers, with some disappointed that not all the music was played live. The routines were pretty impressive, even if the group didn't seem like highly-trained movers. One of those guys must be Olof

"F**! I left the oven on!" Is that Karin? Maybe

Here's another bonkers instrument. The strange structures added to a sense of being on a completely different planet at bacchanalian Solstice celebration, apart from the gurning, topless asshat next to us who made it feel like a psy-trance rave at Dingwalls

Ribbon dancers and a big screen projecting a guy who looked like an Austrian mountaineer mouthing the lyrics and incredible lasers added to the sense of the surreal

OK, this probably is Karin

Oh, and apparently that's Olof on the left. Fun fact: Olof DJs under the name DJ Coolof in nightclubs across Europe
