Our history with the Leicester lads goes way back to 2000 when photographer Sam Jones snapped the fresh-faced foursome in a somewhat cosy rehearsal space.
Fast forward to 2004, as Sam Jones was on the scene at the shoot for ‘Club Foot’ in a snowy Hungary. The band were in fighting form back then.
Ever playful, the band stormed our snapper Sam Jones with sticks and branches during that Hungary shoot in 2004. Their eponymous debut was released in October of that year.
An individual portrait shot from Sam Jones in 2004. This week’s mag features an in-depth interview with the band as they release their fourth album ‘Velociraptor!’.
Looking not altogether different to how they do on this week’s cover, Kasabian pose in 2004.

Tom doffs his hat and Serge displays a pocket watch as part of our Alice In Wonderland-inspired cover shoot in 2009.
Back in rock ‘n’ roll mufti during the same 2009 shoot. Looks like they preferred the dressing up box.
Later in the year Kasabian were back on the cover. NME travelled to San Francisco to shoot them stateside.
All peace and love in San Francisco, 2009. No bloody flowers in their hair though…
A shot from our 2010 cover shoot sees Tom and Serge all smiles.
We caught up with Kasabian at Hookend Studios near Reading earlier this year. For a full, in-depth interview with the band grab this week’s mag.
