  • Juliette Lewis (National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation)
    Lewis scooped an Oscar nomination for her role in Cape Fear in 1991, and also had roles in Natural Born Killers, What’s Eating Gilbert Grape and The Basketball Diaries in the '90s. She's spent much of the past decade playing with her band, Juliette and the Licks.

  • Johnny Galecki (National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation):
    Galecki had minor roles in Vanilla Sky and I Know What You Did Last Summer, but he's most famous however for his part as Leonard in US sitcom The Big Bang Theory, which nets him a jaw-dropping $1 million per episode. Yikes.

  • Jake Lloyd (Jingle All The Way):
    Lloyd went on to star as a young Anakin Skywalker in the ill-fated Star Wars prequel The Phantom Menace in 1999. He later said the role ruined his childhood and caused him to struggle with mental health issues. He was nicked for driving offences in 2015.

  • Taylor Momsen (The Grinch):
    Momsen starred in the 2001 Dr. Seuss adaptation as Cindy Lou Who, a young girl who befriends the Christmas-loathing Grinch. Her acting career continued in TV series Gossip Girl, and she is also the lead singer of The Pretty Reckless, a hard rock band from New York who have had moderate success in America and the UK.

  • Nicholas Hoult (About A Boy):
    Hoult's career has been extremely successful since starring in the 2002 adaptation of Nick Hornby's novel. In 2007 he played Tony in teen-drama Skins, and he went on to feature as The Beast in X-Men: First Class, Nux in the thrilling Mad Max: Fury Road and was cast as the lead for 2015’s dark comedy, Kill Your Friends.

  • Peter Billingsley (A Christmas Story):
    Billingsley played the adorable Ralphie in the 1983 film, and he also starred in another Christmas film with a cameo as an elf in 2003’s Elf. He has frequently collaborated on camera with Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn, and even nabbed an Executive Producer credit on 2008’s Iron Man, which Favreau directed.

  • Corey Feldman (Gremlins):
    Feldman peaked early, starring in classics Stand By Me and The Lost Boys while still a teen. Like many a child star, his career went off the rails: his post-fame activities have included getting married on reality show The Surreal Life, charging $250 entry to his seedy birthday parties, and publishing a memoir called Coreyography.

  • Macaulay Culkin (Home Alone):
    After Home Alone, Culkin wound up abandoned again in the excellent sequel set in New York. He rarely acts these days, but recently took to the stage in his pizza themed Velvet Underground cover band, The Pizza Underground.

  • Kieran Culkin (Home Alone):
    The younger Culkin chose his next roles carefully, but bagged himself a Golden Globe nomination for his role in Igby Goes Down in 2002. In 2010 he played Michael Cera's sarcastic roommate in Scott Pilgrim vs The World and has been cast as a recurring character in the second series of FX’s Fargo.

  • Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Love Actually):
    His role as Sam in Love Actually set him up for a pretty big future. He played Paul McCartney in John Lennon biopic Nowhere Boy and landed a huge part in The Maze Runner film franchise. His casting of the enigmatic Jojen Reed in Game of Thrones has given him his most well known role to date.

  • Olivia Olson (Love Actually):
    Olson played the American love interest of Sam in the same film and the pair would work together again on the kid’s cartoon; Phineas And Ferb. In 2013, she began a career in music and released her first album, 'Beauty Is Chaos' earlier this year.

  • Mara Wilson (Miracle on 34th Street):
    Just two years after the release of Miracle on 34th Street, Wilson featured as the witty Matilda in the film of the same name. She has acted only a handful of times since the 1996 film, and is instead now focused on writing with her first book scheduled to be released next year.

  • Eric Lloyd (The Santa Clause):
    Lloyd played the son of Tim Allen in the 1994 festive film The Santa Clause, in which Allen’s character inadvertently inherits Santa's job. Lloyd had roles in the film’s two sequels but has since acted few and far between, and in 2015 set up a film production company in California.

  • Daryl Christopher Sabara (The Polar Express):
    Sabara played Juni Cortez in Spy Kids before he landed a prominent voice role in The Polar Express. He's specialised in voice acting since and has contributed to several cartoon shows, including Scooby Doo, The Batman series and Marvel's Avengers Assemble.
