  • We know better than anyone how important and powerful music photography can be and that's why we teamed up with Nikon to scour the UK to find the next wave of inspirational music snappers with the NME Music Photography Awards. The winner of the Reportage category is Ken Leanfore who took this shot of US rapper Tyler The Creator crossing a street on a skateboard.

  • The awards were split into six categories; Live, Portrait, Reportage, Festivals, and Under-21, plus a Professional category to celebrate the work of established photographers. This is the winning photograph from the Festival category, taken by Sally Rose McCormack, of a man enjoying one of this year's festivals.

  • All the entries were rated by NME.com users, before being judged by a panel of experts comprising of NME Editor Mike Williams, NME Acting Picture Director Zoe Capstick, and renowned rock snapper Dean Chalkley. This photograph of Umlala taken by Orit Pnini won the Portrait category and is even used by the band as the cover image on their Facebook page.

  • NME Editor Mike Williams said: "It's our mission each year to dig out the most exciting music photography, and the images here showcase the very best." Matt Richardson is the winning photographer for the Under-21 category for his shot of the Tribes walking past the screaming crowds of girls at Bournemouth.
