The Big Pink, outside The Casbah, San Diego, Friday 16 April, 2am. Photographer Matt Salacuse recalls: "This picture was taken after everyone had left the club on the last show of the tour. The band and roadies were so relieved to have finished all their tour dates that they collapsed on each other in an drunken orgy of exhaustion and exhilaration while retaining their dignity and their clothes."

Crystal Castles, Nouveau Casino, Paris, Monday 26 April. "Love this band. Live they’re incredible. All pounding beats and back-lit strobes. Sometimes it can be a bit tricky to get the shot, but you just have to get stuck in there with the crowd (who show no mercy). I’m always a little amazed how good they look and sound." (Tom Oxley)

The Dead Weather at Coachella, April 16. “Photographing a band while on tour can be a bit limiting at times. Fortunately, I was able to find a suitable location in between the hotel and the venue that looked like vast desert (right behind me is a busy highway and fast food restaurants). The light was perfect." (Pieter M van Hattem)

Kele Okereke, Dolan's Warehouse, Limerick, Ireland, 14 May. "The setting was immediately curious - Kele against the backdrop of a small pub in mid west Ireland. I happily snapped away." (Ed Miles).

The Drums, Hackney, London. "Painting the stripes in my back garden on one of the walls was quite hard work. It was trickier than I thought to get the same size stripes all the way up, however, I think we managed it. Another positive from the shoot is that I thought the stripes looked so nice and colourful in the garden, that I’ve decided to keep them up there." (Tom Oxley)

Chrome Hoof, Queen Elizabeth Hall, London, 22 April. "By far the wildest and most eclectic band I have ever seen and ever had to photograph. I knew I had my work cut out to try and capture shots of all band members when I lost count around 16 or 17 as they took to the stage." (Kristian Yeomans)

Giggs in the studio. "As I walked into the studio to meet Giggs he was sat on a sofa with his 4-year old son playing a video game. It was an image that struck me. Giggs has an unusual method of working. He writes/composes all of his material on his phone and reads it back." (Ed Miles).

MIA, North London Studios, 29 April. "This was a very exciting shoot. There was a plan to stick to for the shot, but there was literally only one chance to get it right. MIA’s an amazing artist to shoot because she’s willing to try new things and push herself." (Tom Oxley).

Gorillaz, Roundhouse, London, April 29. "Pretty much all the vocalists on the new record were in attendance at the gig and watching them all soundcheck individually was amazing while all of Jamie Hewlett's visuals were on a big screen behind." (Andy Willsher).

Hurts, Radar Tour, Manchester Academy, 28 April. "No matter what time of day I saw the band, they were always dressed immaculately. It's not just a stage thing, even on the tour bus it's straight into a suit." (Danny North).

Lightspeed Champion, O2 Academy, Bristol. "It was great to see him doing karaoke for an hour before the gig, blasting out 'Heart Shaped Box' by Nirvana and 'Loveshack' by the B-52s at full volume and then getting mobbed by a load of kids that had just been kicked out of his gig for stealing posters from the venue." (Andy Wilsher).

Warpaint at The Great Escape, 15 May. "At the end of Brighton's pier, after a killer set on our Radar stage in an almost full Horatio's Bar, LA group Warpaint took to the pier promenade for an a capella cover of 'Billy Holiday' for two fans. We were there to catch it happening." (Dan Dennison).
