Heavy metallers Anvil have recently been announced for Download 2009 and have hinted they may be playing Glastonbury and Reading & Leeds too. Drummer Rob Reiner said recently: "Anvil has been around - now we're really going to be around. Nothing has changed, we're just kicking ass all the time. Now there are more people to rock for, and more people are understanding the story."

Bon Iver (pictured), Wilco, British Sea Power and Errors have all signed up to this year's Green Man festival on Aug 21-23. Record label Bella Union will also be hosting a night showcasing emerging talent, which sees appearances from Beach House and Peter Broderick.

Soulwax are set to play a live set plus a DJ set as their alter egos 2manydjs at Bestival. The duo, David and Stephen Dewaele, will join the likes of Klaxons, MGMT, Kraftwerk and Bat For Lashes, who had already been announced as set to play. The event takes place on the Isle Of Wight on September 11-13.

Tommy Sparks, Frankmusic, Fischerspooner and Sneaky Soundsystem have also joined the bill for the July 4 event. The bash takes place at London's Hyde Park will also see an appearance from Dizzee Rascal.

Best International Band at the Shockwaves NME Awards 2009, The Killers are joining us at this year's V Festival. They're headlining one day while Oasis take the other at the August 22/23 shindig. Other acts confirmed include Razorlight, Lily Allen and Peter Doherty.
