Jessie J performed at Herefordshire’s Big Chill festival on Saturday (Aug 6), despite still being on crutches for her broken foot. She tweeted after the show saying: “The Big Chill was HOT! Thank you for going iinnnn even in the rain!!!”
Punters went all out for this weekends Big Chill festival, held at Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire (where Kayne West apparently stayed for £7000 per night). Although the festival tickets weren’t sold out, there was still a great atmosphere and reportedly lots of audience participation, including 200 fans joining M.I.A on stage.
Kanye West closed this year’s Big Chill festival. He didn’t just showcase his music but his opinions as well, saying: “I walk through the hotel and I walk down the street, and people look at me like I’m insane, like I’m Hitler… one day the light will shine through and one day people will understand everything I ever did.”
With both sun and showers, this year’s festival was swings and roundabouts… literally.

Janelle Monae didn’t let the rain dampen the audiences’ spirits during her set on Saturday (Aug 6). Entertaining as ever, Janelle covered the Jackson 5’s ‘I Want You Back’, painted on an easle during ‘Mushrooms & Roses’ – and there was even a bit of play fighting.
Former Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant performed on the final day of the festival (Aug 7), marking the end of a 13-month tour which Plant has been doing with Band Of Joy.
Closing the first day of the festival (Aug 5) was a very well received performance from The Chemical Brothers, complete with laser show and mash-ups aplenty.
Big Chill virgins Wild Beasts drew the largest crowd of the day on the Deer Park Stage on Friday (Aug 5), in all their ‘Hooting And Howling’ glory.

Warpaint graced the main stage on Sunday (Aug 7) just as the sun was setting.
Neneh Cherry brought politics to The Big Chill when she took to the stage on the first day of the festival (Aug 5) celebrating health, happiness and feminism. “It’s been a bad year for the women”, she declared.
The ‘Sonic Journeys’ installation by Illusion consisted of 32 huge helium-filled balloons clustered beneath a large tree half way up the hillside and the light intensity ebbed in response to the accompanying sound piece.
Mercury-nominated Katy B performed on the Saturday (Aug 6).
The cloudbursts didn’t appear to dampen festival-goers’ spirits.
Man of the moment Example followed Calvin Harris’ performance on Saturday (Aug 6), treating fans with a dance vibe at this years ‘Big Chill’.
Empire of the Sun got into the spirit of things, donning some of the best fancy dress costumes of the weekend!
Interactive story band ‘The Bullitts’ performed with Jay-Z-approved American rapper ‘Jay Electronica’, Kill Bill and Charlie’s Angels Hollywood star ‘Lucy Liu’, and British actor and star of The Wire The Office and Luther ‘Idris Elba’ for an exciting performance on the Deer Park Stage on Saturday (Aug 6).
There were some great lighting installations at the Big Chill festival this year including clusters of glowing colour changing cubes of light. Always mesmerising at 3am when you stumble past looking for your tent.
20-year-old MOBO award winning rapper ‘Chipmunk’ performed some of his chart toppers on ‘The Reveller’s Stage’ on Friday (Aug 5).
Audiences flocked to The Revelller’s Stage to see Aloe Blacc on Friday (Aug 5th), where he played some of his most popular tunes including ‘I Need A Dollar’, ‘Good Things’ and ‘Femme Fatale’.
