This year’s winner, who walks away with 2,500 Euros, is the young Belgian photographer Tom Verbruggen. His live silhouettes and atmospheric backstage shots reminded judges of Anton Corbjin, famous for his sombre images of Joy Division and U2. Pic: Charles de Keersmaecker
Jill Furmanovsky, acclaimed rock photographer, was invited to open the exhibition. She was struck by the quality of entries: “The standard at the PopView awards was awesome and inspiring. We had a lot of trouble picking just one winner.” Pic: Jordi Huisman
