Morrissey has 'Rickrolled' David Bowie by replacing a photo of him with one of 1980s singer Rick Astley. Last month David Bowie denied Morrissey the right to use an image of the pair together for the artwork on his upcoming single, a repress of 'The Last Of The Famous International Playboys'. Morrissey has now opted to use a shot of him and singer Rick Astley instead.

Noel Gallagher has said that his experience of the Brit Awards was summed up by seeing a member of Muse smoking an electronic cigarette. "I saw the drummer from Muse smoking an electronic cigarette. A cigarette with a battery in. I had to say to him: ‘Really? Really? Is that where you are at? Do me a favour mate, either have a proper one outside, or don’t have one.’"

Kasabian's Serge Pizzorno has confirmed that The Rolling Stones will be playing this summer's Glastonbury festival, which clashes with their show at Hard Rock Calling. He said: "I hope ours is the most talked about performance of the weekend, but that would be a miracle because The Rolling Stones are playing Glastonbury."

Noel Gallagher has said that David Bowie's recent comeback "blew his mind", adding that the way in which he came back with a brand new album shows that established acts don't always have to rely on their former glories. He told NME: "It's great to hear his voice singing something new. The more you hear 'Where Are We Now?' the better it gets."

Kanye West has admitted he is annoyed that he was only voted as the seventh best rapper in the world in a list compiled by MTV. "Yeah, number seven bothers me," he said. "To me, I feel like in order for them to put me as number seven, they had to bring up things they didn't like. They didn't like the 'Cruel Summer' album, and I'm like, 'That's just [a] compilation.'"

Justin Bieber collapsed backstage at the O2 Arena on March 7. The singer interrupted his performance – his third in a week at the London venue – when he felt woozy on stage. A representative for the singer told The Hollywood Reporter that the singer then took a 20-minute break backstage to receive oxygen.

Laura Marling has revealed details of her forthcoming album. The singer's website has been updated with information about her fourth album, the follow-up to 2011's 'A Creature I Don't Know'. Titled 'Once I Was An Eagle', the new album will be released May 27. It was recorded at the Three Crows studio owned by Marling's longterm producer and instrumentalist Ethan Johns.

Kasabian's frontman Tom Meighan has become the latest musician to criticise this year's Brit Awards after describing the ceremony as "awful" and "bad TV". The bash, which took place last month, pulled in its biggest TV audience in over a decade but many of the artists in attendance have been critical of the entertainment on offer, with both Robbie Williams and Jake Bugg describing it as boring.

The world's first major exhibition about the life of The Beatles drummer Ringo Starr is set to open this summer. 'Ringo: Peace & Love' will open at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles on June 12 and close in November 2013, before touring cities across the world in 2014. The exhibit will look at "all aspects of Starr's musical and creative life".

Kendrick Lamar has said that Kanye West deserved a higher spot on MTV's hottest MCs list. The Compton MC released his major label debut 'good kid, mAAd city' last year and topped the poll. He spoke after West admitted he was annoyed he only made 7th place on the list. When asked if Kanye deserved a higher spot, Lamar replied: "Definitely. I mean, it's Kanye. He's been puttin' in work for years."

Rihanna has been named as the most streamed female artist of the last six months. The singer tops a global poll compiled by Spotify, beating Britney Spears and Taylor Swift to the title. A UK list also released to mark Friday's International Women's Day revealed that Taylor Swift is the most streamed artist in the UK, followed by Rihanna and Florence Welch.

Snoop Lion has announced that he will star in a new video game titled Way Of The Dogg. Developed by 505 Games and set to be release don XBLA, PSN and mobile devices later this year, it will be a rhythm action game drawing on elements of Kung Fu films as players are encouraged to beat up their enemies to a soundtrack of the artist formerly known as Snoop Dogg's music.

A petition has been launched in the US asking the White House to adopt R Kelly's classic single 'Ignition (Remix)' as the nation's new national anthem. Fans have filed the petition on the administration's website and already have 2,000 signatures from people who are eager to see R Kelly's party anthem replace 'The Star-Spangled Banner'.
