Lady Gaga appeared at London Fashion Week on September 16 to introduce a Michael Jackson-themed show by milliner Philip Treacy. The singer took to the stage wearing a neon pink veil that completely covered her face, before striking a Jesus-like pose and announcing: “Ladies and gentleman, the greatest milliner in the world, Philip Treacy – in the clothes of the late Michael Jackson.”
Former Oasis man Liam Gallagher was reportedly given a dressing down by Spanish police after he got too vocal while watching his beloved Manchester City’s 3-2 defeat to Real Madrid last night. According to The Sun, Gallagher was grabbed by a policeman and told off after his team went 2-1 up. They went on to concede two late goals and lose 3-2.
Matt Helders’ mum has confirmed that Arctic Monkeys are in the desert recording the follow-up to ‘Suck It And See’. Responding to internet rumours suggesting that Arctic Monkeys are set to enter the studio for their fifth album soon and have already chosen the recording location, the drummer’s mum – Jill Helders tweeted: “I don’t know if it helps to clear things up but lads are in the desert!”

John Lennon has been named as NME’s Ultimate Musical Icon of the last 60 years. The Beatles’ co-frontman topped the poll, which began with 60 nominees in March of this year, beating out the likes of David Bowie, Amy Winehouse, Arctic Monkeys’ Alex Turner, Morrissey, Liam Gallagher and Damon Albarn to take the crown.
My Chemical Romance have confirmed full details of their new ‘Conventional Weapons’ series of releases. The tracks were recorded in 2009 during the sessions for the band’s fourth album, which they then scrapped to instead record ‘Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys’.

Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner has spoken about his love of John Lennon’s lyrics. The singer, who was speaking in this week’s issue of NME which names Lennon as the Ultimate Musical Icon of the last 60 years, said that The Beatles’ co-frontman is someone he admires deeply and that the lyrics to The Beatles’ classic ‘I Am Walrus’ remain an inspiration to him.

Lana Del Rey has recorded a cover of the classic track ‘Blue Velvet’ for a commercial for clothing company H&M. The ‘Video Games’ songstress became the new face of the fashion brand’s ‘LA noir’ collection in July of this year and, appropriately, will now appear in a television advertisement for the company singing the song.

Justin Bieber has claimed he has been approached to take on the lead role in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades Of Grey. Despite his youthful appearance and clean-cut image, the teen hearthrob told TV chat show how Jonathan Ross that he had been asked to play the kinky title character in the big-screen version of EL James’ novel.
A previously unseen video of Sex Pistols performing ‘Holidays In The Sun’ in 1977 has been revealed. The live footage was shot during a gig in Penzance, Cornwall in September 1977 – the month before ‘Holidays In The Sun’ was released as the fourth single from the band’s classic debut album ‘Never Mind The Bollocks…’.
Muse have spoken about their forthcoming album ‘The 2nd Law’ and have revealed it is much more personal record than their previous efforts. ‘The 2nd Law’ is due to be released on October 1 in the UK and October 2 in the US. It includes new singles ‘Madness’ and ‘Survival’ as well as dubstep-influenced track ‘The 2nd Law: Unsustainable’.
Adele has recorded the theme tune for forthcoming new James Bond film Skyfall, it has been confirmed. After the ’21’ songstress caused a flurry of speculation earlier this month when she was spotted visiting London’s Abbey Road Studios where the soundtrack is being recorded Total Film have now confirmed that she will provide the film’s official song.

Lil Wayne has referenced Frank Ocean’s sexuality on a controversial new rap. Wayne, who has recently claimed that he is bored of rapping and wants to hang up his microphone to focus on skateboarding, mentions the R&B singer during his cameo on Future’s new single ‘Turn On The Lights’.
The friends and family of Amy Winehouse said their final farewells to the late star on September 16 as they buried her ashes during a ceremony in north London. The Sun reports that approximately 70 mourners attended the ceremony in Edgware to pay their respects to the ‘Back To Black’ star and watched Winehouse’s father, Mitch, pay tribute to his daughter’s “short but dynamic” life.

The 1965 The Rolling Stones documentary Charlie Is My Darling is set to be officially released for the first time. The 50-minute film was shot in September 1965 when the Stones did a two-date tour of Ireland after ‘Satisfaction’ hit the charts. Although bootleg copies have been available, the film was never officially released.
