  • Liam Gallagher expresses interested in reforming Oasis for ‘Defiantly Maybe,’ anniversary gigs in 2014. Despite being the lead singer of Beady Eye and on non-speaking terms with brother Noel, he claims there is ‘unfinished business,’ with Oasis, and says he would even reform the band for no financial reward.

  • Kanye West has revealed the minimalist design for the artwork for his new LP ‘Yeezus.’ Its design of just a clear CD case with a red sticker with the title scrawled across it was confirmed by Kanye to be the official cover on Twitter earlier this week.

  • The Stone Roses playedtracks which have been unheard since 1990 whilst on stage warming at a Finsbury Park warm-up gig, preparing for two huge London shows at the weekend. Featuring on the new set-list are tracks ‘Elephant Stone,’ and ‘Going Down,’ both which have been un-played since 1990, along with ‘Breaking Into Heaven,’ last played by the group in 1996.

  • Appearing in Cardiff Crown Courts, Lostprohets singer Ian Watkins denies two charges against of raping a baby, a charge of conspiracy to rape another child and other offences placed against him. These alleged offences date back from 2007, with the next hearing to take place on Thursday.

  • White Lies announce their new album entitled ‘Big TV,’ being their third studio release. Produced by Ed Buller and released through Fiction Records on the 12th August, frontman Harry McVeigh claimed: “Anyone that was into us from the start and has seen us develop is going to really bloody this album.”

  • Kim Kardashian accidentally let slip her and Kanye West's baby's gender (a girl) on the season premiere of hit show Keeping Up With The Kardashians. The reality star is due to give birth at the end of the summer.

  • U2 and Chris Martin have been spotted entering New York’s Electric Lady studios together, and reportedly rumoured to be mixing a new record together. Could this mean Chris Martin is to feature on the new U2 album? Pictures of The Edge, Bono and Chris were later uploaded to Twitter.

  • BBC promoter Harvey Goldsmith claims that the BBC ignored ‘Chime for Change’ concert. Harvey Goldsmith, who co-organised the 1985 Live Aid concert, said the BBC bosses had been more interested in sending in it’s presenters and staff on a ‘jolly,’ for Glastonbury later this month.

  • Beady Eye streamed their new album ‘BE,’ online via iTunes before it’s release on June 10. On the day of release the band are set to launch the album with a special in-store gig at London’s Rough Trade East.

  • Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme, admits that he took a ‘huge risk,’ with the new album, in order to make ‘something real.’ In an interview with the Guardian, Homme, he says “If you wanna be famous, then it’s OK if the music is fake, because fame isn’t real. But if you wanna make something real, and you want it to be honest, then you don’t have any choice but to take a huge risk.’

  • The Stone Roses attended the premiere of director Shane Meadow’s documentary Made of Stone, in Manchester on May 30th. Ian Brown, John Squire and Mani appeared on the red carpet, with drummer Reni unable to attend as apparently struck down with a cold at home.

  • Green Day have set a new gig attendance record at London's Emirates Stadium. The venue sold out all 60,000 tickets for the first time. Other acts including Coldplay and Bruce Springsteen have played sell-out shows at the Emirates Stadium in the past but their attendance figures were lower due to different staging and seating configurations.
