John Squire confirms The Stone Roses have 'A few new songs'. The guitarist revealed band planning to record again at 'Made Of Stone' premiere. Asked what the situation with new material is, Squire replied: "We're working on it. It'll be ready in about five years. We've got a few new songs".

Former LCD Soundsystem man James Murphy has said he thinks the new Arcade Fire album will be "really great". The Canadian band joined Murphy at the DFA studio earlier this year to work on new material. "There's a lot of them, and they're mostly self-produced – like, they don't need a producer in a certain way. So I didn't know how it would go," he said.

Liam Gallagher doesn't get the hype surrounding Daft Punk. The Beady Eye frontman told The Sun he thinks he could write the duo's four-week Number One single 'Get Lucky' in "an hour". Gallagher said: "I'd write that in a fucking hour. I don't know what the fuss is about, you know what I mean?"

Unseen photos of The Rolling Stones will go on display in London. The rare 1960s pictures of the band will make up part of The Stones And Their Scene, an exhibition of photographs by the late Eric Swayne. The exhibition will open at Proud Chelsea on June 13 and run until July 28.

The South Korean singer looked embarrassed as fans from both competing teams, fierce rivals Roma and Lazio, reacted badly to his performance. Organisers then tried in vain to drown out the deafening boos by turning the volume up.

Iggy Pop claimed that he is not a fan of punk music. The Stooges frontman is often referred to as the godfather of punk but, in an interview with Classic Rock, he said he was not a fan of the title and found it "tedious". "They have to have a place to put me to reference in the whole thing," he said of industry figures who use the accolade.
