Thom Yorke has announced he will play a Green Party benefit gig later this month. Taking place at Cambridge’s Corn Exchange on February 25, the Radiohead frontman is performing in support of Tony Juniper, who as well as campaigning to become a member of parliament, also accompanied Yorke as he crashed the UN Climate Change Conference in December. White Lies have announced a second ‘fan exclusive’ show at Manchester’s FAC251 The Factory. Already set to play at the former Factory Records office on February 13, the London trio then revealed they would play a second show on February 14, with tickets exclusively available to fans via their website. COACHELLA MUSIC RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE

Courtney Love’s London Hole gig was cancelled last night due to the singer/guitarist being blocked into the street she was staying on while a riot occurred nearby. Love had been due to play at the Proud Galleries in Camden, last night (February 11) but due to police being called to a party that got out of hand on Park Lane she was blocked in the premises. The White Stripes are to take “strong action” against the US Air Force after a re-recorded version of their 2002 hit ‘Fell In Love With A Girl’ was used on a promotional advert aired during Sunday’s (February 7) Super Bowl. Kaiser Chiefs’ frontman Ricky Wilson has revealed the band “needed to get bored” in order to rediscover their hunger for writing new music. The Leeds band, who decided to take a break following their homecoming appearance at last August’s Leeds Festival, are now working on a follow-up to 2008’s ‘Off With Their Heads’.
The Drums’ guitarist Jacob Graham has said that his band have been hanging out with The Maccabees on the Shockwaves NME Awards Tour 2010, and revealed he has bonded with frontman Orlando Weeks over their mutual love of graphic design. The tour, which tonight (February 10) calls at the Norwich UEA, sees the two bands joined by The Big Pink and Bombay Bicycle Club. Pic: Tom Martin
