Arcade Fire are previewing their upcoming 12-inch single online. 'The Suburbs/Month Of May' is expected to be 'in stores in the next couple weeks', the Canadian group revealed earlier this week, but now the band have put teaser tracks of the single on their official website, Arcadefire.com.

Poison frontman Bret Michaels has returned to hospital after suffering from a stroke - and doctors have also discovered a hole in his heart. The singer suffered a brain haemorrhage last month, and now doctors in the US have said he has had a "minor stroke" known as a Transient Ischemic Attack, it was reported on his official website, Bretmichaels.com.

Noel Gallagher, Fat Boy Slim and Inspiral Carpets' Clint Boon are among the names who are supporting a campaign to help England secure the hosting of the World Cup in 2018. Created by Umbro, the 'I'm in' campaign is hoping to convince the football governing body FIFA, how passionate the country is to stage the event.

Vampire Weekend are set to return to London's Kings College for an intimate show. The band previewed tracks from 'Contra' at the Student Union venue back in October last year. The band will now return for a show next Wednesday (May 26), staged in association with MTV.

The White Stripes are auctioning off a custom-made red and white marimba for charity. The instrument, which was created for their 'Get Behind Me Satan' tour, made its live debut at the Fundidora Amphitheater de Coca Cola in Monterrey, Mexico, on May 11, 2005.

Metallica wrapped up their current run of European dates in Portugal's capital Lisbon on Wednesday (May 19) by letting the crowd decide part of their setlist. The band, who are set to head to Israel before returning to play in France on May 23, offered the crowd at the Pavilhao Atlantico a choice between a "drum solo or a cover", with the crowd opting for the latter.

The Magic Numbers have rescheduled their new album release date and accompanying UK tour. The band will now release their new effort 'The Runaway' on July 26, after having previously planned to release it on June 7. A limited-edition version of the album will come with a four-track live CD.

Former Death Row Records label boss Marion 'Suge' Knight has been arrested for assault with a deadly weapon in Los Angeles. The rap mogul was picked up by police in the early hours of Thursday (May 20) after allegedly pointing a gun at someone then leaving the scene by car, reports BBC News.

Karen Elson has postponed her forthcoming European tour. The model-turned-singer, wife of The White Stripes' Jack White, had been set to play three UK gigs. Her spokeserson did not explain the reason for the postponement, citing "events beyond our control". Refunds are available at the points of original ticket purchase and new dates are expected soon.

Sugababes have begun a legal battle against former member Mutya Buena over who should own the rights to the band's name. Current members Heidi Range, Amelle Berrabah and Jade Ewen have teamed up with their record company Island Records to officially oppose Buena's application last March over the rights to the name, reports BBC News.
