Iggy Pop has vowed to stop stagediving after suffering a nasty fall at a recent show. The singer, 62, revealed he dived for the last time during a gig at New York's Carnegie Hall. However, none of the audience caught him, leaving The Stooges' frontman bruised.

Florence And The Machine frontwoman Florence Welch says she's taken to science to influence the writing of the band's second album. Welch told NME.COM that she's working with producer Paul Epworth on new material, and that one new song, 'Strangeness And Charm', sees her recount a science lesson that her dad originally told her.

Editors' Folkestone gig was stopped on Tuesday (March 23) and police were called to the Leas Cliff Hall venue following a fight in the crowd. The Birmingham band were deep into their set but halted due to a fracas breaking out. Kent Police told NME.COM that at 10:18pm (GMT) two fighting crowd members were escorted outside and one was questioned by an officer after venue staff phoned the police.

Noel Gallager played his first post-Oasis gig on Thursday (March 25), headlining the Royal Albert Hall in London for a Teenage Cancer Trust show. The singer/guitarist played songs from his Oasis back catalogue, including several B-sides. He refrained from playing new material despite calls from some fans to do so.

Pete Doherty is set to play a matinee solo show at the The Blues Kitchen in London on Easter Saturday (April 3), it has been announced. The Babyshambles man will be supported by his sister's band, The Ezra Beats for the show, with doors set to open at 3pm (GMT).

Jack White's wife Karen Elson has confirmed the release details of her debut solo album. Called 'The Ghost Who Walks', the record is out on May 24. As well as producing and playing drums on it, the record is being released on White's Third Man label.

Boy George has said that his old group Culture Club may reform next year to play live. The singer told BBC Radio 5live that the band, who broke up in 1986 but have reunited occassionally since, might get together again to mark the 30th anniversary of them forming.

Belle & Sebastian are set to curate a three-day All Tomorrow's Parties festival this December. Named Bowlie 2 - in reference to the Bowlie Weekender, which the band curated back in 1999 – the event will feature performances from around 40 bands, all hand-picked by the Glasgow indie group.

Record Store Day 2010 will be taking place in 1,000 independent record stores across 18 different countries this April 17. The event started two years ago in the US and will be celebrated in UK with exclusive releases by a whole host of bands, including LCD Soundsystem, The Rolling Stones, The Cribs, Joy Division, Foals and Crystal Castles.

A DVD containing footage the makers claim is a Jimi Hendrix sex tape is set to be released in May. ,Jimi Hendrix: The Story Of The Lost Sex Tape is due out on the Kaleidoscope company on May 3. It contains 11 minutes of porn footage which is being billed as featuring the late guitar legend.

Guns N' Roses' Axl Rose is being sued by his ex-manager Irving Azoff for $2 million (£1.3 million). Azoff, of the Front Line Management company, filed papers in Los Angeles yesterday (March 25), reports BBC News.
