  • Eminem was joined by 50 Cent and Dr. Dre as he kicked off his joint US tour with Jay-Z last night (September 2) at Detroit's Commercial Park. After a support slot from B.O.B, Jay-Z played his set, then Eminem performed 33 songs or part-songs, reports Billboard.com.

  • A man is set to have a sex change in an attempt to look like Lady GaGa. Penio Daskalov, 24, says he is planning to launch a career in music following the operations. Daskalov, who has appeared on the Bulgarian version of Big Brother, has also contacted Lady GaGa's management about linking up with the singer for a duet in the future, though unsurprisingly he hasn't heard back yet (Radar Online).

  • Peter Saville, the designer of sleeves for Factory Records bands including Joy Division and New Order, has designed the new England football team shirt. The shirt (pictured) will be debuted by the team on Friday (September 3) as they take on Bulgaria at Wembley for their Euro 2012 qualifying match.

  • Josh Homme has admitted he considered breaking up Queens Of The Stone Age after firing bandmate Nick Oliveri. The bassist left the band in 2004, having been a founder member, after falling out with the lead singer over his attitude towards the band.

  • Guns N' Roses were bottled by fans on Wednesday (September 1) at the Dublin O2 venue. They left the stage as a result, after playing for just 20 minutes, but returned later to complete their show.

  • The Sex Pistols have launched their own perfume. The unisex scent sees the band collaborating with Paris perfume company Etat Libre d'Orange, who have licensed the group's name via their promoter Live Nation Merchandise, reports Billboard.com.

  • Glastonbury organisers have announced tickets for next year's festival will go on sale on October 3. Tickets for the 2011 event will go on sale from 9am (BST) on the day, with fans able to pay for in full or a £50 deposit per person, as in previous years.

  • Deadmau5 will be joined by an impressive set of guests when he tours the UK in December. The DJ, who wears a giant mouse head when he plays live, will be joined by Magnetic Man and Zane Lowe at his shows in Manchester, Coventry, Glasgow and London, while Calvin Harris DJs in Glasgow and Stanton Warriors join the bill in London.

  • Gallows have admitted they kept their gig at this year's Reading And Leeds Festivals secret because that was the only way they could get on the bill without having to fulfil a "contractual obligation".

  • The Maccabees played to a huge Main Stage crowd at Reading Festival last Saturday (August 28), debuting a new song during their set. The track, which is currently untitled, was introduced by frontman Orlando Weeks, who originally joked that the band would play a cover instead.

  • Leeds band The ABC Club have won the inaugural NME Breakthrough supported by BlackBerry competition. The NME Breakthrough competition involved a search for the best unsigned act in the UK who had signed up to the online community. NME judges whittled down the hundreds of acts who entered to five shortlisted acts, then users of NME Breakthrough voted for their favourite, picking The ABC Club.

  • LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy took a dig at Guns N' Roses as he went up against Axl Rose's band on the closing night of the Leeds Festival on Sunday (August 29). The singer dismissed the main headliners before he went onstage, telling NME that he wasn't concerned they would hog the limelight.
