The Drum
Horns Front(Mantra)
Touted as cutting-edge, avant-garde rock, this suffers from the same disease as many 'art rock' projects, in that it's limp-wristed, repetitive and of little use to anybody outside of the alternative hour on Xfm. While it's not the worst thing you're likely to hear this week, it's little more than a droning indie version of Washington DC art rock geniuses Shudder To Think.
The Drum aren't playing their guitars, they're just tapping their fingers gently against the strings like muppets. Disappointing.
