Mambo Italiano(Wonderboy)
Shaft vocalist Federica has worked in Cats, while it's the proud boast of co-vocalist Derya that she has appeared in videos alongside Paul McCartney and Annie Lennox, but in spite of this thoroughly dubious pedigree, this attempt to kick-start a summer mambo craze isn't so bad. Much of this is down to percussionist Trevor Brown, who hasn't just opted for Latin flavours pasted over a Euro-backbeat but has adopted the suppler, slinkier rhythms of the real mambo thang. If a dance hit is going to be played to death by gurgling Capital Radio DJs over the coming months, it might as well be this.
