Kings Of Convenience : Winning The Battle, Losing The War

Kings Of Convenience : Winning The Battle, Losing The War

Recently, Kings Of Convenience were named as part of the NAM (that's the New Acoustic Movement, for you at the back). They are perhaps the most delicate of all the bands named there, though. Totally acoustic and hailing from Norway, the duo recently proved their fragility by playing a tour of sit-down cinema venues, followed by a film screening. Even the lyrics here are gentle in a way no other band around can manage without sounding corny ("Even though I'm not her minder, even though she doesn't want me around/I am on my feet to find
her, to make sure that she is safe from harm"). It's enough to say that, in its own quiet way, this is truly lovely.
