Leila : Sodastream

[a]Leila[/a] is drifting away from her [B]Aphex[/B]-ish roots to sound increasingly like prime-time [a]Prince[/a] submerged in a sonic stew of squelching [B]Bjorkery[/B].

On her debut release as a Prodigy labelmate, avant-jazz electro voyager Leila turns in perhaps her most polished and orthodox work yet. Which, by most people's standards, is still pretty out-there.

'Sodastream' is a mutant technoid trip-soul
ballad which is slowly sucked into a deep pit of slithering sonic malevolence D but all in the best possible taste, of course. With smoochy vocalist Luca Santucci once again on board, Leila is drifting away from her Aphex-ish roots to sound increasingly like prime-time Prince submerged in a sonic stew of squelching Bjorkery.
