Waterboys : We Are Jonah

The only single this week to mention Tierra Del Fuego, moody '50s actor Montgomery Clift and a snoring whale, though this is one of the less barmy tracks on The Waterboys' largely excellent comeback album, 'A Rock In The Weary Land'. Largely excellent, in fact, apart from 'We Are Jonah', which ditches the choirs and mad-eyed excess in favour of appallingly cheery Christian rock. An important moral lesson here: hellfire and zealotry rock harder than happy-clappy parables.
