Schiller : Das Glockenspiel

Bleak progressive house grind that goes on and on in an amazingly numbing way until a six-note glockenspiel melody, apparently played by the slowest member of a music therapy workshop, arrives after four minutes. Schiller are from Hamburg, and 'Das Glockenspiel' distinguishes itself from the other dozen Eurotrance records released this week by being closer in spirit to the sleek menace of early Underworld. Like you've been scanning long wave radio in the middle of the night and picked up one of those forlorn call signals that, rumour has it, are coded messages from the military. Conspiracy theory trance: it's the new thing.
