High Fidelity : 2 up 2 down
It doesn't matter how much you tell people, some people will never get over Britpop.
It doesn't matter how much you tell people, some people will never
get over Britpop. The High Fidelity - bless their slightly outdated souls - have realised that everyone liked Jarvis' flakiness coupled with a double dose of choruses. Working with that somewhat shaky formula, they've come up with this insanely optimistic, irritatingly joyful ditty about, well, nothing really but, hey, who listens to lyrics these days anyway? Already Mark and Lard's single of the week, '2 Up/2 Down' is all a-quiver with knowing Jarvis intonations and enough of Brett's shimmer to see you through now that Brett's not up to providing it himself these days. Not as bad as it sounds but - much like Britpop - nowhere near as great as it thinks it is either.
