Gay Dad : Oh Jim

So the world hasn't yet turned Gay. Or even become Dads, for that matter. But you know you want to really. Just the fact that so many useless bloody mediocrities hate them should be enough to convince you this band are worth your attention. I mean, did you see those twats in the On section with a T-shirt saying 'Gay Fad'? Oh satire! You useless indie pricks. Almost as sad as Mogwai's latest marketing exercise. And these are the same people who are the first to accuse Gay Dad of being one big cynical marketing scam.

Never mind. Maybe another great single will convince you. But probably not. The phrases 'tender love song' and 'soaring epic chorus' are not used in polite society in this cynical age, but
such
is the stirring emotional resonance of this pop record that you
have
no choice. Regardless of fashion, production or pretension it succeeds by being a very good song. I can't say the same about the Krautrock synth funk effort on the B-side, but if Gay Dad can't confuse you, who the hell can?
