Following his adventures in dub with Lee 'Scratch' Perry last year, ex-Prodigy hoofer Leeroy Thornhill's official album preview is a more restrained affair.
The surprise is his rich,
expressive, crooner's voice.
The disappointment is the overly tame and tasteful pop-ballad tune, which sounds like Eagle-Eye Cherry covering 'Macarena' in busker mode. Of the alternate versions, only the grizzled beatscapes of the Grinalot mix hints at Prodge-style intensity. Which is probably the whole point. Not amazing.
