My Vitriol : Grounded

Quite what bands like My Vitriol think they're going to achieve in 2001 remains a constant source of mystery. True, singer Som Wardener carries a certain air of Camden-friendly faux-rebellion and mildly angst-ridden annoyance. But it's only the kind of angst that you get when the bus is slightly late, or if your local shop has only got prawn cocktail crisps and you really wanted salt and vinegar. Whatever budget may have been thrown at the Vincent Gallo-starring promotional video, the shoe-gazing B-side 'Oh Father' sounds doomed to remain in mid-afternoon festival slots, kicking in at just the moment when you're wondering whether that bacon sandwich was such a good idea.
