New Orleans has got Master P.
St Louis has got Nelly. Now Milwaukee can boast the eccentrically named Coo Coo Cal. The look is parkas and hats with pom poms; the sound is jerky, slightly '70s funk. As far as musical innovation is concerned, it doesn't hold a candle to the Dirty South, but there's something about Coo Coo Cal's almost operatic delivery which compels you to listen even though lyrically you've heard it all before. And so the hip-hop nation moves onwards, to ever more remote parts of the globe. What price the first Eskimo rapper?
