Yet another post-ironic Parisian pop pixie claiming lineage to the Air/Etienne De Crécy/Daft Punk axis while subtly trying to distance himself from the scene in case its brittle sheen of official good taste gets dissed by Madonna tomorrow. Which is odd, because 22-year-old Rob's debut single is essentially 'Sexy Boy' with more prominent guitars and breezy female vocals courtesy of honeyed chanteuse Astrale. This is ponytailed power pop suffused with warm nostalgia for an innocent golden age of synth-heavy soft-rock that never really happened, so why not invent it? Why not indeed. Promising.
