Easily the strongest of the tracks lifted from 'Free All Angels', this is the sound of a band growing up. After the debacle of the 'Nu-Clear Sounds' period (where all their videos featured hotel suites, prostitutes and several zillion other rock'n'roll cliches), ASH have finally got back to making decent music again. 'Candy' sees them weave a sample of The Walker Brothers' 'Take It Easy On Yourself' with a Dr Dre piano lift, add a big nod to Phil Spector and still make it sound like the most natural thing in the world. We like it.
