Ryan Adams : New York New York
A merry love song that sounds like it's about a lady, but - get this! - is actually about a city...
So good, they wrote two songs about it with exactly the same name. Judging by his pose on the cover of 'New York New York' - dukes up, the Stars and Stripes a-fluttering in the background - this should be ex-Whiskeytown frontman Ryan Adams' very own pop at an alt-country 'Kill Bin Laden'. No bittersweet lyrics about ill-prepared Delta Force commandos getting gangrenous fingers in the mountains of Afghanistan here, though - just a merry love song that sounds like it's about a lady, but - get this! - is actually about a city. Ingenious! And very pleasant. Next!
