Dave Lee has here poached a vocal from Joan bloody Armatrading and somehow managed to construct a sweetly naive club smash out of it...
As all the great soul and disco records are being forever sucked dry by the sample-hunters, it's getting increasingly difficult for the common house producer to find anything fresh to lay over those 4/4 beats. But you can always trust Dave Lee - who, as Joey Negro, Jakatta and a myriad other personas, has made a career out of the sample-fuelled house anthem - to pull out a winner. Following up his last record 'American Dream', Dave, with producer Leiam Sullivan, has here poached a vocal from Joan bloody Armatrading and somehow managed to construct a sweetly naive club smash out of it. We look forward to hearing Tanita Tikaram rockin' the Ministry Of Sound before the year's out.
