And whilst more celebrated Britpop warriors were driven into the Channel many moons ago, ‘tis The Bluetones whose style and smiles continue to melt hearts on sold-out tours. How do they endure, wonder record labels who long ago dispensed with their services only to watch them succeed with their own indie imprint? Well, the secret is insanely simple: The Bluetones make excellently quirky, tuneful and artful singles.
They give good 45, baby, and as long they continue to service their blue army with wry English guitar pop as punchy as this they’ll still prosper long after we’re all dead.
