Not so much a record as an elegantly jewelled battering ram smashing down the doors of the mainstream, this declares the UK’s summer of electroclash well and truly open.
Last year, Montreal-based Tiga set an old 80s power ballad to winking synths, swathed it in decadent Euro melancholy and sent the results to Munich’s DJ Hell, who spread the word from Berlin to New York. You know the rest. Tacky, camp and glamorous, ‘Sunglasses At Night’ is the perfect antidote to dad house, flu rock, 'Pop Idol' and every other blight on the current pop landscape. Sign up… your disco needs you!
