DJ Luck & MC Neat : Irie
All very well on a mixtape but an almighty shitshow when occupying the same three and a half minutes...
Some would say that the day DJ Luck became Luck, and MC Neat became - in a flash of almost Warholian simplicity - Neat, was a turning point in UK garage. Turning? Perhaps. Turning into crap? Bingo!
'Irie' is almost entirely without form, a sort of stream-of-consciousness garage 'joint' which sounds like The Streets, Leftfield and DJ Luck & MC Neat. All very well on a mixtape but an almighty shitshow when occupying the same three and a half minutes.
