Black Rebel Motorcycle Club : Spread Your Love
...or, as it’s probably known in all the most disreputable bars round town, ‘Spread Your Bassline’...
Ah, the lighter side ofBlack Rebel Motorcycle Club. They might take their vocation very seriously indeed but that doesn’t preclude the genius likes of ‘Spread Your Love’ - or, as it’s probably known in all the most disreputable bars round town, ‘Spread Your Bassline’.
A slutty strut of glitter-rock promise, not only does it flash its hormones with intent, it once again exposesBlack Rebel Motorcycle Club
’s effortless understanding of rock’n’roll dynamics. Even without its status as a gloriously inappropriate addition to the 'CD:UK' schedules - "Thanks, Will! And now here’s a song about paranoid, altered-states lust packed with dubious fire metaphors!" - it feels excitingly illicit, as if the world’s megastores should wrap it in brown paper for you before you walk out past the Liberty X window display.
