Badly Drawn Boy : Something To Talk About

More excellent stuff from Damon Gough, in what is probably the most fully realised song from his soundtrack to 'About A Boy', the film where Hugh Grant plays someone who does next-to-nothing to earn a living. Indeed, typecasting lives.

As, conveniently enough, it does with 'Something To Talk About' – having been thrown in to the role of scruffy and highly talented minstrel, here Badly Drawn Boy sticks solidly to his remit, with a beautiful tune reminiscent of 'Pissing In The Wind' from his excellent ‘Hour Of The Bewilderbeast’ long player, and which like his best material unfolds at its own unhurried pace. He gets the title of the film in. It's not cheesy. And everything works out happily ever after.
