Crescent : Spinnin' Wheels
...the most accomplished The Crescent have sounded yet...
Constantly crocked England midfielder Steven Gerrard was supposed to show-up for the 'Spinnin' Wheels' video shoot. Having obviously heard the band's first two singles, he decided to duck out. Shame on him because this is the most accomplished The Crescent have sounded yet.
Moving away from the murky, leaden sound of Cast that had infected them before, they’re finally nudging close to the glorious, simple and textured feel of their spiritual fathers The La’s. Though Coral and The Zutons are leading the Liverpool vanguard with a vision tied to the warped psychedelia of local heroes Teardrop Explodes, The Crescent's scally charm, and love of simple tunes, will soon start giving them a run for their money.
