Hoggboy : Upside Down
Third single in and their Converse is still brand new and their leather so fresh it squeaks
Take the Libertines. Then strip away the sweat, the drugs and shambolics but leave the bullshit and bravado - you're left with Sheffield's Hoggboy. Third single in and their Converse is still brand new and their leather so fresh it squeaks. ’Upside Down’ has everything it should; tin can production, shouty vocals, squally geetars and a drummer who should be in anger management. But it's the added extras which make it not quite the full denim jacket; the faux American accent, the, ahem, handclaps. This is No Name by numbers, build your own greasy rock band, and it hardly touches the high standard set by similar bands. Ikara Colt would laugh in their faces and kick dirt in their eyes.
