A year ago NME received an innocuous looking 7" with an Australian post mark. It was called ‘Factory’. It sounded like Nirvana covering The Beatles ‘Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da’. The band turned out to be [a][/a] and well…you know the rest. Today, a highly anticipated 12" arrived from Melbourne rockers Jet. The lead A-side ‘Take It Or Leave It’, sounds like The Rolling Stones, the balls-out stadium rock of AC/DC and the soundtrack to the coolest chewing gum advert of all time. B-side ‘Move On’ would hold its weight against anything from the Easy Rider soundtrack (‘The Weight’) or Neil Young’s back catalogue. It’s one of the best things we’ve heard all year. And well… the rest is gonna be history.
