Electric Six : Danger! High Voltage!

Readers, do not despair! If your Christmas has been about as much fun as seeing Guy Garvey recite Kurt Cobain’s ‘Journals’ verbatim at a Scout Hut in Skegness, gonzo garage stalwarts The Electric Six are here to ensure your New Year goes with a bang.

Not so much with his finger on the pulse as in the nearest plug-socket, singer Dick Valentine warbles "Fire in the disco! Fire in the Taco Bell!" whilst his band rustle up the sort of pop-party thrash which sounds like the idiot half-brother to The Rapture’s ‘House Of Jealous Lovers’. That good. A hysterical Jack White even yelps along on the chorus, happy to revel in such riotously pointless New Year stupidity. The Electric Six: there’s five of them.
