Cabaret Voltaire : Nag Nag Nag

No doubt inspired by the blaze of publicity centring around Britain’s brightest and best electroclash shindig, Mute Records are re-releasing the record from whence it got its name.

And after all these years (14 to be precise) ‘Nag Nag Nag’ still bristles with enough static electricity to send sparks flying from Dortmund to Detroit. A scratchy, shouty piece of distorted guitar and pioneering electro, it has more in common with Yeah Yeah Yeahs than Fischerspooner[/url].

>Not bad for three blokes from Sheffield who named themselves after a Dadaist collective (and you thought Interpol were pretentious?). Fuck Michael Parkinson – Cabaret Voltaire are hereby confirmed as our greatest living Yorkshiremen.
