The first peep out of the Cardigans in five years sees them ditching the chilly rawk edge of 1998’s ‘Gran Turismo’ in favour of a warm, winsome early 70s radio vibe. Nina Persson comes over like a young country-tinged Olivia Newton John, dealing with the consequences of confessing her love to some jerk who doesn’t reciprocate. A little hard to believe such a tale from the Swedish minx, but an utterly lovely song just the same.
