Tough times for the advertising industry at the moment – and deservedly so, judging by this lame tune from the new Levi’s ad. This time, the men in the red spectacles have dredged from the bargain bins a collaboration between producer-about-town Nellee Hooper and Kelli Ali, of hopeless trip-hoppers Sigur Ros. Thanks to Ali’s cornily fake American accent and Hooper’s antiseptic scuzz, it sounds exactly like Garbage, apart from the bit a minute in when it decides shamelessly to ape LCD Soundsystem’s ‘Losing My Edge’ instead. Would you buy a used bassline from this band?
