RJD2 : Exotic Talk

25th-century-metalled-up proglunacy...

RJD2 are also known as Ronnie James Dio II though, presumably, the pint-sized ex-Rainbow howler took objection, hence the acronym. Well, a pox on the wizened old fruit, because this monstrous chunk of turntablised future-prog could bend and crush the average pensionable metaller with a single flick of its mighty wizard’s sleeve. Guitars heavier than Mars are floated like feathers and bent out of shape by random, growling sine-waves. Drums appear and disappear like ghosts of someone you’re not sure you’ve ever met, and the human voice features as a kind of precursor to something new and wonderful happening. So many pop songs are rubbish retreads of a thousand things you weren’t fussed about the first time.
RJD2 are something else. Literally.
