Puressence: 'Don’t Forget To Remember'
'Hailed as genius by their mates, ignored by everybody else'
5 / 10
Hailed as genius by their mates, ignored by everybody else, Manchester’s Puressence never understood why they didn’t follow Doves and Elbow to the higher reaches of furrowed-brow masculine rock. They had a point – their soaring anthemics had tunes of industrial chart strength. This fourth album is as good as they ever were, but it’s not really going to happen now, is it?
