Twelve years of trumpeting The Cause, you have to wonder what - after all the Levellers' fervent, soapbox hectoring - that actually is. 'Hello Pig', their sixth studio album, does little to clarify.



, while the latter uses an apalling, Sunday school parable about an old hermit as a metaphor for delusion.



'Hello Pig' fails not because it cares, but because it cares too much; its scattershot, Samaritan mentality rendering it by turns baffling and plain embarrassing. For the Levellers, the times they ain't a' changing. At all.
