Double A EP (Animal House)

Author, serial songwriter and general laugh-a-minute bon viveur

Stephen Jones has been ploughing an increasingly lonely furrow of late.

With chart placings now a distant dream, he's been gradually filtering his

misanthropy into increasingly interesting musical directions. What once seemed

like charmlessness now seems like genuine awkwardness. This EP takes two of the

better tracks from his recent 'Bugged' album (the sweetly homicidal lope

of 'Fireflies' and the brassy 'Getaway') and adds three more slices

of claustrophobic, acoustic misery. It sounds like he's gradually edging back to

the bedroom from which he first emerged.
