Nebula Clearlight(Sweet Nothing/Cargo)

Clearlight

Nebula

Clearlight(Sweet Nothing/Cargo)

Though it's unlikely to be heard

by more than three people during its release, this is a genuinely

killer single. The fuzzed-up

garage rock tune revolves around

a hand-clapped hi-NRG chorus where frontman Eddie Glass tells us: "I've been thinking/I've been thinking/I've been thinking for so long". Substitute the words 'smoking ganja' for 'thinking' and you're on the right track. Purely Stooges, MC5, Blue Cheer-influenced, Nebula will never be a singles band, but this still out-pops most of this week's guitar competition - if it weren't for the elongated Black Sabbath psychedelic wig-out ending. Kick out the '60s revival jams.
