New Radicals : Someday we'll know

How much is it fair to hate [a]New Radicals[/a]? Well, on the evidence of that hit single, you can hate his 'I'm one of you, kids' Reni hat and tossy trainers and the way he danced with the audience in that video and the way he dissed Beck, Courtney and [a]Marilyn Manson[/a] for being 'fakes' (Methinks he doth protest too much 'cos he feels just a little guilty about being the ultimate corporate MOR sellout), and the way he seems to think he's the voice of a generation, and the way he uses that name thinking it's a comment on being different to 'fake' radicals, but he's too much of a control freak twat to be in a real band, and now reckons he's going back to songwriting because he has some moral objection to 'this business' when he's been neck-deep in it for years, and in fact just wants to write songs for money without having to go through the awful chore of touring and promotion, and the whiff of po-faced pomposity he exudes in the way he talks to 'the kids' about real issues and, er, because 'You Get What You Give' sounded like Styx or someone.

But if you thought that, you might be completely wrong. Never mind, just putting some thoughts out there. This, on the other hand, is really quite nice. It's about not knowing why you love someone, just like you don't know "who holds the stars up in the sky". Aww. He's lovely really, isn't he?
