Kosheen : Suicide (Slip & Slide)
The exact point where Reprazent, Flynn&Flora, Portishead and Breakbeat Era meet.
Bristol-based, points out the press release, just in case there are any deaf reviewers out there. Kosheen - Darren Decoder, Markee Substance and vocalist Sian Evans - are, in fact, the exact point where Reprazent, Flynn&Flora, Portishead and Breakbeat Era meet. And, possibly due to the still alien nature of such West Country urban blues, quite ace. What they lack in startling originality, they certainly make up for in moody electronic exoticism. 'Suicide (Slip & Slide)' is a shuddering tantrum, but 'Dangerous Waters' pushes Kosheen's fog-bound drum'n'bass beats and delirious, dramatic jazz vocals heavenward.
